Why is Iraq MIA at DKOS ?

It is impossible to believe that kossacks sympathize with ISIS.

Clearly the tragedy that is befalling Syrians and Iraqis is a close match to what is happening to the people living at Gaza. The latter slaughter gets full attention.

Thing is, Republicans are responsible for ISIS from 2003 to their last presser three months ago. Loud, proud, on message all the way.

Yes, that is John McCain. The GOP's pretend expert for military matters. He's standing with so-called "Moderate Rebels." These are Sunni Syrians. His idea for years has been to send more advanced weapons into Syria.

Then both Iran's Qods Force and the Lebanese Hizb Allah came in on the Assad side, so all the in-country anti-Assad rebels went over to ISIS and al-Nusrah. Here's what the Shia are saying:

Now obviously assuming the Assads were responsible for the chemical weapons mass murder, they are a long way from being Good Guys.

But having CIA finance groups that have turned sides and now have raiders slaughtering Syrians and Iraqis by the thousands -- that is and was always a very bad idea.

The Obama Administration has put forward a proposal to discuss a $500-million budget item to support McCain's "Moderate Rebels." Down in the small print there's a requirement to name the recipients. Identify recipients inside Syria. Obama is good at the details. He knows there's nobody in-country at Syria for the $500-million.

Meanwhile, the fanatic Salafi subsect known as ISIS is getting its way with central Syria and the far northern sections of Iraq. They do lie a lot about conquests -- Mosul happened as described/videoed but Tikrit, Samarra, and the areas held by the Kurds have gone the other way. ISIS has 20mm and 23mm cannons on pickup trucks and 60mm recoilless rifles. No match against professional artillery.

Electing Democrats

For DKOS and for progressives generally, attention to ISIS should embarrass the Party of Bush to no end. Bush/Cheney broke Iraq. After the U.S. left Iraq they had McCain and Lindsey Graham go out before the American public and give horribly bad advice.

And now it is even possible that ISIS could create an Islamist, al-Qaeda modeled state.

The Perpetual War Party was essential to these disasters. Responsible for 99.44% of the damage.

Between Bush, Cheney, and McCain there was nothing shy about what they did. They thought they were bloody perfect. And then ISIS invaded Iraq....
